Description
The stable range at Tros-y-marian is an 18th-century lofted structure that is linear in design, with its main elevation facing east and opening directly onto a cobbled yard adjacent to the main driveway of the house. It is constructed of rubble masonry, with the principal elevation featuring coursed and squared stonework, topped by a slate roof. The doorway is located towards the right (north) end of the range and has a stone tablet above it displaying the initials W / H A and the date 1735, along with a shield that features a stag's head. To the right of the doorway, there is one window, while two windows are situated to the left, all of which are 4-pane casements. At the right (north) gable, there is a boarded door and a large 6-pane light at the apex of the gable. On the opposite end, external stone steps lead up to the loft doorway, which is currently in a dangerous condition and supported by scaffolding. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
