Description
The walls of the enclosed garden and summerhouse at Tros-y-marian date from the late 17th century and are located to the south and east of the house. They are constructed from rubble masonry. The summerhouse, or pavilion, is situated at the southern end of the main garden, facing the house. It is built of roughly dressed masonry arranged in courses and is currently roofed with profiled asbestos sheeting, featuring stone copings on shaped kneelers. The front gable, which faces north, has block finials and a squat stack at the rear. The main elevation looks towards the garden and the house to the north, featuring a central round-headed doorway flanked by recessed 6-pane lights between advanced pilasters, with an arched recess above the doorway. The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales believes that the summerhouse originally included plastered pilasters, cornices, and other decorative elements. The interior of the summerhouse was not inspected during the survey.
