Description
Melin Maengwyn is a full height, four-storey windmill tower built with a circular plan and slightly tapering walls made of rubble masonry, which was originally rendered, with some render still remaining. The structure is currently roofless and capless. It features opposing doorways on the ground floor and rectangular windows on the upper levels, each with segmental heads made of roughly hewn voussoirs. Above the northern doorway, there is a slate tablet inscribed with a date and the initials W / H E, which stand for H E Williams, the first member of the Williams family to operate Melin Maengwyn. Additionally, there is a large hole on the northeast side of the mill tower, created for the removal of the machinery.
