Description
The building is a small summerhouse and dovecote located in the garden of Plas Rhianfa. It is designed in a French gothic and chinoiserie style. The central section is circular, except for its straight rear wall, and features an open front. It has a conical fish-scale slate roof that rises to a fleche and includes two tiers of lucarnes, which are the dove entrances, supported on a timber base with an open front and glazed sides.
On either side of the central section, there are two small wings made of open-work timber posts, each containing nesting boxes in their short rear walls. In front of the summerhouse, there is a small terrace that is enclosed by balustrading set between square piers topped with shallow pyramidal copings. Inside, the central section has a tiled floor and a wooden bench against the back wall.
