Description
The House and Castle Bakery is a late Georgian style, three-storey, two-bay shop and house. It features a scribed roughcast front with moulded sill bands and a slate roof. There is a roughcast stack on the right and a brick stack on the left. The lower storey has openings framed by panelled pilasters, a plain fascia that is partly obscured by a later awning, and end brackets supporting a moulded cornice. On the left side, there is a replaced door to the house with a plain overlight above it. To the right of centre, there is a shop window with two round-headed lights and a replacement glazed shop door on its right side, also under a plain overlight.
In the middle storey, there are moulded architraves with keystones surrounding replacement 16-pane horned sash windows. The upper storey features plainer architraves and replacement small-pane top-hung casement windows.
At the rear, there is a two-storey addition. In the upper storey, there is a 12-pane hornless sash window on the left and a two-light small-pane casement window on the right. The property has not been inspected.
