Description

Castell Gwylan is an early 19th-century house designed in a castellated Gothic style, constructed from rubble masonry that has been rendered and colourwashed. The main elevation is symmetrically planned and overlooks the Menai Strait. It is two storeys high with a five-window range arranged in a 1-3-1 pattern, where the outer bays are advanced and designed as angle towers. The house features castellated parapets with a band below. The sash windows have pointed arches and interlaced glazing bars at the top. There is a four-centred arched entrance set within a flat-roofed porch. The rear of the house has modern flat-roofed extensions. The property has been modernised and no original features of note remain.
