Description

Hidden House is a 2-storey late-Georgian style house with a 2½-storey rear wing. It features rendered walls and a slate roof, with roughcast stacks on the right side and at the rear wing. The central entrance has a doorcase with wooden Tuscan columns supporting a moulded round arch, a 2-panel door, and scrolled ironwork infilling a former overlight. The windows are horned sashes. To the left of the entrance is a 12-pane stair window, while to the right is a 16-pane window on the lower storey and a 12-pane window above. Further to the right is a single-storey kitchen projection with a lean-to roof against the boundary wall, which includes a 12-pane window on the left, a glazed door, and exposed rubble stone on the right with a blocked doorway. On the left side of the front is a single-storey gabled projection, formerly a shop, featuring a double 12-pane window and a replacement glazed door to its left. This projection abuts the rear of No 20 Castle Street, and on its left side is a lean-to ty bach.

At the rear, there is a central half-glazed panel door, a tripartite 12-pane hornless sash window to the right, and two 12-pane windows on the upper storey. The rear wing is located on the left side, with its side wall containing a 12-pane window in the upper storey and a smaller 12-pane window to the right, which lights a corridor. The 2-window rear gable end features moulded architraves with 12-pane windows, except for a blocked window in the upper right. The gable also has a small-pane attic window on the left and a blocked window on the right.

Inside, the large entrance hall includes a staircase with a quarter turn, a wreathed handrail, plain balusters, and scrolled tread ends. The kitchen on the right has a fireplace with a 4-centred brick head and a spine beam with run-out stop. The drawing room in the rear wing features panelled shutters, and most rooms have panelled doors.
