Description

The East Lodge and Gate at Hopetoun House date to 1895 and were designed by Sir Robert Rowand Anderson. The gateway comprises quadrant colonnades, featuring paired columns topped by urns, and rusticated gatepiers faced with engaged Ionic columns. The lodge itself is a single-storey building constructed of ashlar, with a piended slate roof. A portico, featuring piers faced with Ionic pilasters, is accessed by a stair.
