Description
The Railway Viaduct over Ogle Burn in Lochearnhead, designed by Crouch and Hogg around 1902 to 1904, is a curved concrete structure featuring nine arches. It has seven semicircular arches, each spanning 40 feet, across the valley, with half arches at either end. The concrete is channelled, and the viaduct includes a string course and a coped parapet. The southern parapet is corbelled out over each pier to create a refuge. This viaduct is a notable and impressive example of concrete engineering.
