Description
North Hall Cottage in Luss is a single-storey building from the mid to later 19th century, originally a hall that has been subdivided into two cottages. It is constructed from whinstone rubble with slaister mortar, featuring red sandstone margins and dressings. The eaves project and reveal exposed rafters.
The principal (west) elevation showcases an advanced gable at the center, which includes a bipartite window and a sandstone plaque above it. To the right, there is a chevron boarded door accompanied by a letterbox fanlight. Both sides of the gable have three near-symmetrical bays, each containing a boarded door, a letterbox fanlight, and flanking windows.
On the rear (east) elevation, there is another advanced gable at the center, again with a sandstone plaque, along with a later addition of a French door.
The windows are 4-pane timber sash and case style. The roof is covered with graded grey slate and features lead flashings. Additionally, there are small cast-iron rooflights and paired octagonal ridge stacks made of red sandstone.
