Description
These are the third and innermost set of gatepiers situated on the West drive leading to Kinnell House, and are part of a wider group of listed buildings. Dating from the 18th century, the gatepiers are circular and constructed of rubble stone with flat tops. They are surmounted by crouching lions, believed to be of oriental origin. The gatepiers form an important element of the approach to Kinnell House. They are part of a group value listing that includes the first set of Urn Gatepiers, the Kinnell Urn Gatepiers, Yellow Cottage, Ball Finial Gatepiers on the South Drive, Kinnell House, the walled garden and ancillary buildings, the Kinnell House steading, and the Kinnell House ice house.
