Kingussie, Kingussie Golf Course, Clubhouse

The Kingussie Golf Course clubhouse, designed by Alexander Mackenzie in 1911, features a mid-20th century addition to the northeast and a late 20th century addition to the southeast. This single-storey, three-bay rectangular pavilion has a piended roof with overhanging eaves, which provide cover for a columned veranda on the southwest and northwest sides. Above the veranda, there are gabled and piended dormers. The windows are made of plate glass with timber transoms and mullions.

The veranda has a full-width canopy supported by timber posts with braces that spring from capitals. The roof is covered with grey slate tiles and has decorative clay ridging. The exterior is finished with horizontal timber weatherboard, which is painted, and features decorative timber fretwork on the outer bay gables. There are lead valleys and hips, and one brick stack at the roof. The building has a base course.

On the northeast elevation, which is the principal elevation, there is a full-width veranda and a triangular gable feature with a polygonal piended dormer centered above the veranda.

The interior, as seen in 2013, has been modernized, and the original floor plan is no longer extant. A non-original fire surround has been fitted to the original opening. The space is now a large, open plan room with a modern bar located to the southeast, along with kitchen and locker room facilities at the rear.
