Description
Invermark Lodge Kennels, likely built in the later 19th century, is a single-storey structure consisting of six kennels with large dog runs in front and small gabled cottages at each end, arranged in a shallow H-plan. The building features roughly-dressed granite with granite ashlar dressings and stugged sandstone ashlar boundary walls surrounding the dog runs. It has long and short quoins and window margins, with slightly projecting window sills.
The central range has timber-boarded doors for each kennel on the south elevation, along with rooflights on both elevations. The dog runs on the south side are enclosed by cast-iron railings and gates, set within a saddle-coped boundary wall. The eastern bothy has three bays, featuring a central two-leaf timber-boarded door, flanking windows, and gablehead stacks. The western bothy includes two central doors with flanking windows.
The windows predominantly have four-pane glazing in timber sash and case style. The building has coped stacks with various clay cans and a purple slate roof with stone ridge tiles.
