The Kennels, Balnacroft

This ancillary structure is an earlier 19th-century estate house with later additions. It is a well-detailed single-storey and attic, three-bay, L-plan building, accompanied by associated kennels, situated on a raised piece of land. The structure appears single-storey from the front and two-storey from the rear, constructed of coursed granite rubble. It is oriented south and stands detached at the end of a row of estate cottages, featuring a base course. The symmetrical south façade includes a four-panelled timber door with a narrow two-pane fanlight above, complemented by granite console details above the door and flanking windows.

The building predominantly has eight lying pane timber sash and case windows, topped with a grey graded slate roof and coped gable stacks, which include raised coping with skewputts.

There is a single-storey timber structure to the north with a corrugated iron roof and nine-pane windows. To the northeast, granite kennels are present, although they are now in poor condition as of 2006. This gabled range has an enclosed stone yard to the south, also covered with grey graded slate.

Additionally, there are a pair of square-plan coursed granite coped gate piers to the west. The interior of the building has been extensively modernised.
