Description

The Feshie Bridge is a later 18th-century rubble bridge spanning the River Feshie, situated within the Cairngorms National Park. It is a high single span structure springing from natural rock abutments, incorporating a small flood arch on the east bank. The bridge features dressed rubble arch rings and a low, dressed rubble coped parapet. The main span is approximately 40 feet, with a 12-foot flood arch. The bridge is noted for having survived the major floods of August 1829, as documented by T Dick Lauder in 1830. Further details can be found in Ted Ruddock's Arch Bridges and Their Builders, 1735-1835 (1979).
