Description
The Dovecot on Glen Road in Dunblane is an early 19th-century, three-stage circular tower. It is constructed of random rubble, partially harled, with squared and tooled stone courses at the parapet and ashlar margins around the openings. The northwest side features a blocked ashlar architrave leading to a square-headed entrance, while the southeast side has a square window with a projecting lintel and cill at the second stage. The structure has a corbelled-out design leading to a coped parapet, which includes four projecting waterspouts. The hidden roof contains an open cupola with flight-holes and a cap, supported by four stone columns that end in lead ball finial caps.
