Description
A group of cottages dating from the mid-19th century, situated within the Deanston Mill complex. The cottages were constructed as housing for mill workers. They are built in a simple, functional style, reflecting their original purpose. Each cottage is two-story with a pitched roof. The exterior is largely of white-painted render over stone. The windows are predominantly small, arranged in a regular pattern. A few windows retain original timber sash windows. The cottages demonstrate group value as a significant element of the Deanston Mill complex, illustrating the social history of mill villages in Scotland.
