Albert Halls, 24 Dumbarton Road, Stirling

The Albert Halls, located at 24 Dumbarton Road in Stirling, was designed by W. Simpson junior in 1883 and showcases a Renaissance architectural style. The building is constructed from snecked rubble and features a prominent southeast facade with five bays. This facade includes arched windows that alternate with pediments, framed by Roman Doric pilasters at the first floor. The central entrance is highlighted by a swagged, consoled, arched, and pedimented doorpiece, flanked by sections with one-window openings that also have consoled and pedimented first floor windows.

On the southwest front facing Dumbarton Road, there is a recessed central section with six windows, an arched and swagged consoled doorpiece, and arched first floor windows. The central area displays coats of arms, while the end bays are advanced and pedimented, featuring pedimented windows supported by coupled pilasters at the first floor. The building is topped with a balustraded parapet adorned with heavy swagged urns, and it is complemented by ornamental cast-iron lamp standards.
