1 Clarendon Road, Stirling

1 Clarendon Road is a mid-Victorian double villa with a unique design, likely created by John Allan. The building is asymmetrically planned but features nearly symmetrical elevations. It is constructed of two-storey snecked rock-faced rubble and has broad-eaved slated roofs with jerkin-head gables and dormer heads.

On the Dumbarton Road side, the elevation has two windows between the gabled ends, with canted bays on the ground floor and bipartite windows on the first floor, along with an off-centre doorpiece. The Clarendon Road elevation has three windows, with the first bipartite lacking a dormer head and a bipartite window on the left side of the ground floor. The doorpieces are notable for their unusual heavy one-third architrave drip mould features, which include sculptured head dripstones. Additionally, there is iron cresting at the bays and doorpieces.
