16 Teith Road, Deanston Cottages, Deanston

This is an early 19th century group of workers’ houses, located at 16 Teith Road, Deanston, and originally part of Deanston Mill. The terrace consists of five blocks, now numbered 12 to 22 Teith Street. The houses are built of rubble with rendered margins, and have stugged quoins and angle margins. The original layout included a central pair of doors and a single, off-centre door for each block. Later alterations include enlarged windows at numbers 12 and 14, and some additional windows have been added. Two canted gabled dormers are present on each block, with smaller, flat-headed dormers added centrally. The roofs are slate-covered, with stacks built on the party walls between the houses.
