Description
9 Pitt Terrace is a semi-detached pair of houses built in 1855, designed in the late Georgian style. The building has two storeys and features a four-bay block constructed from ashlar stone. It includes end pilasters and a doorpiece supported by twin, fluted Doric columns, with railed steps leading up to the entrance. The windows have architraves, with cornicing at the ground floor and lugged detailing at the first floor. Notably, No. 8 has modern PVC pivot windows installed around 1983. The main cornice and blocking course are present, with the centre party wall and chimney supported by scrolls. The roof is slated and features a decorative iron balustrade. The interior of No. 8 is particularly remarkable for its elaborate and finely detailed plasterwork, which includes rich classical ornamentation and a stained glass dome.
