Description
37-39 Baker Street is an early 19th century, three-storey and attic, three-bay terraced tenement. The building features ashlar stone with painted render at the ground level, along with a base course, eaves band, and projecting cills.
The north elevation facing Baker Street has five bays at the ground level, arranged in a 3-2 grouping, with double pilasters at each end and single pilasters dividing the bays. On the left side, there is a shop door flanked by two 19th century shop windows. On the right side, there is another shop door with a 19th century shop window to the right. Above, the fenestration is regular, with two canted slate-hung dormers in the outer bays and a small Velux rooflight.
The first floor features plate glass casement windows with fixed six-pane glazing at the top, while the second floor has timber sash and case windows with twelve-pane glazing. The roof is covered with grey slates, and the dormers have timber sash and case windows with sixteen-pane glazing and six-pane side-lights. There is a stack located in the west gable.
