Description
27 and 29 Baker Street in Stirling is a 4-storey, 5-bay terraced tenement building dating from 1718, built on the site of an earlier house. The building has undergone significant alterations and features a public house on the ground floor. It is finished in painted render and includes a base course, a continuous fascia, an eaves band, and a heraldic panel located between the first and second floors. The top floor has projecting cills.
On the north elevation facing Baker Street, there are three bays at the ground level, with a pend to the outer left. The entrance door, which has a fanlight, is flanked by shop windows that feature modern multi-paned glazing. The building has regular fenestration, with a smaller window in the center of the second floor positioned above the heraldic panel. The first floor windows are blind, and the middle window is blocked. The building has timber sash and case windows with 4-pane glazing, although the third-floor window has been replaced with a modern version. The roof is covered with grey slates.
