Description
Dykehead Kittochside is a late 18th century courtyard farm featuring a two-storey, three-bay dwelling house, with single-storey farm buildings positioned at right angles to the house. The main elevation has vertical margins to arrises, raised margins around the windows, and a band course at the eaves, with a harled finish.
On the south elevation, there is a central door with a modern porch and single windows in the outer bays, maintaining a regular pattern of fenestration above. The north elevation includes a central extension.
The ground floor has modern glazing, while the first floor features four-pane sash and case windows. The roof is slate, with crowstepped skews and coped stone stacks that have raised margins.
The outbuildings include a detached building to the left, constructed from squared and snecked rubble on the west elevation, with a harled, blind east elevation and gable ends, topped with a slate roof. This building has a door in the left bay of the west elevation. To the right is an L-plan attached building, which has a harled, blind west elevation and gable end, also with a slate roof.
Opposite the house, there are gatepiers and a boundary wall. The gatepiers are short, square, and made of ashlar, featuring flat pyramidal caps. The squared and snecked stone wall has coping and ascends in a curved form from the gatepiers.
