Real Tennis Court Adjoining Nursing Home, 19 Crosbie Road, Troon

The building is a real tennis court, designed by Joseph Bickley in 1905 and restored in the later 20th century, specifically in the 1960s. It has a large rectangular plan with eight bays and is buttressed, located next to a nursing home. The exterior features whitewashed render, with a blind ground level and timber strapping at the upper level, topped by a glazed pitched roof. There is a lean-to addition on the northeast side.

On the southeast elevation, which serves as the entrance, there is red sandstone with a pedimented, moulded doorpiece and a panelled timber entrance door located to the far right. The upper level is blind.

The northwest elevation, or rear, has regularly arranged tripartite rows of glazing set within timber strapping at the upper level.

Inside, the court is enclosed by a covered lean-to structure on the northeast, southeast, and southwest sides supported by metal columns. Timber strapping defines the scoring areas, and the net position is discernible. There are hooks in place, various crowns painted on the walls, and an open metal-braced ceiling.
