Description

Circa 1875. 2-storey, 3-bay Italianate villa on corner site with 3-stage recessed square-plan tower. Red coursed sandstone. Base course; dividing band course; eaves course; cornice; arched keystoned openings at 1st floor to entrance elevation; raised quoins.

W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: steps to columned doorpiece; timber door; letterbox fanlight; bipartite arched windows to both stages of tower above; piend roof. Tripartite windows at ground and 1st floor to central advanced bay; semi-circular-plan bay window at both floors to further advanced bay to right.

S (BARNS PARK) ELEVATION: 3-bay. Single windows at ground and 1st floor to 2 recessed bays to left; quadripartite window at ground, tripartite window at 1st floor to advanced bay to right; catslide addition to outer right; deeply recessed bays to rear.

Predominantly plate glass timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; bracketed timber eaves; truncated pitch stacks.

INTERIOR: not seen 1998.

GATEPIER, GATES AND BOUNDARY WALL: single square-plan gatepier with pyramidal cap to entrance elevation; timber gates to 2 vehicular entrances to S elevation; coped boundary wall enclosing site.
