Description

Brickrow Farm is a mid-19th century single-storey and attic farmhouse featuring three bays and single-storey wings, with ancillary structures at the rear that create a small courtyard. There is also a curved ancillary structure to the north. The building is constructed of whitewashed coursed red brick with painted margins, while the ancillary structures are made of sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings and projecting cills.

The south elevation is near-symmetrical, showcasing a three-bay house with a boarded and glazed timber door at the center, topped by a delicate segmental-arched cast-iron porch. There is a single window on either side of the door, and a 2-pane skylight in the center of the attic floor, flanked by two canted dormers. The wings on the left and right each have distinctive windows; the right wing features a Venetian window with a blind center pane, flanked by a small 4-pane window and a skylight, while the left wing has a faux Venetian window, a blind round-arched window in the center, and painted brick side lights.

The east elevation is asymmetrical and whitewashed, displaying a variety of glazing patterns, with a sliding boarded timber door on the right and skylights in the attic. The north elevation has an opening at the center of two blocks leading to the small courtyard, with a single door to the left block and a window to the right, which is flanked by a corrugated-iron wall that includes door and window openings. The west elevation is obscured by a corrugated addition but features a skylight in the attic floor and an adjoining outbuilding on the outer left side.

The property has a variety of timber-framed windows and a graded grey slate roof with piended sections for the wings, complete with lead ridges. The gablehead stacks are coped and have circular cans, and there are cast-iron rainwater goods.

The interior was not seen in 1999. Additionally, there is a harled rubble outbuilding to the north of the farmhouse, which has a curved plan and a piended grey slate roof with lead ridges and skylights.
