Description

26 and 27 The Square in Kelso is an earlier 19th-century, six-bay, three-storey building that originally consisted of two houses, now with shops on the ground floor. The shop at number 27 features a pilastraded shop front that used to match the one at number 29, although only the continuous cornice remains at that location. The upper floors are rendered and have raised margins around the windows and corners. The original 12-pane double-sash glazing is still intact. The building has straight skews and brick chimney stacks, topped with a slated platformed roof.
