Description

31 and 32 The Square in Kelso is a late 18th-century building that stands three storeys high with an attic. The ground floor was remodeled as shops in the later 19th century, featuring a central door that leads to the flats above. The upper floors are rendered and have painted ashlar window margins, along with a cill-course at the first floor. The windows are arranged in three pairs and feature original 12-pane double-sash glazing. There is a moulded eaves course, and the gable facing Roxburgh Street is rendered and lined to resemble ashlar. The building has a straight skew and brick stacks, topped with a slated roof that includes a pair of catslide attic dormers.
