Description
Kirkburn House, a former manse, dates from the early 19th century and is a two-storey, three-bay building with single-storey offices at the rear. The exterior is limewashed with stone margins and features stone mullions.
The south elevation has a prominent polygonal-roofed canted bay at the center, which includes a canted window at ground level. To the right, there is a panelled timber door, and to the left, a single window. The first floor jetties out and has a canted window with narrow windows on each return. The flanking bays each contain a single window on both floors and a small dormer window.
On the west elevation, there is a broad gabled bay to the right with a window on each floor at the outer left and a gablehead stack. The lower bays to the left have asymmetrical fenestration.
The east elevation mirrors the gabled bay on the west, with windows on the left at ground level and on the right at first floor. The lower bays to the right include a door, a small window in the center, and a bipartite window to the left, with another gabled bay on the outer right.
The north elevation features a variety of elements, including lower advanced gables and a panelled timber door leading to a piended projection on the right.
The building has timber sash and case windows with 4-, 8-, and 12-pane glazing patterns. It is topped with graded grey slates and has coped limewashed stacks with cans.
Surrounding the property are coped rubble boundary walls with ball-finialled circular rubble gatepiers and two-leaf ironwork gates.
