Description

Kirklands is a large mansion built around 1830, designed by architect Edward Blore, in the Tudor style. The building has two storeys and a garret, constructed from stugged ashlar with a slated roof. It features tall chimneys grouped in clusters of three and four. The windows are mullioned and transomed, with hood-mouldings above them, and there are oriel windows as well. The entrance includes a gabled porch adorned with lead heads of hounds on either side of the door.
