Description

The Steading and Stables at Drygrange House, built around 1800, features later modifications, including a clock and ogee roof added by Charles G H Kinnear in 1889, and a conversion to offices and residential use by Camerdon Associates in 1993. This large H-plan steading is designed in the Jacobethan style and includes a central clock tower topped with a leaded ogee roof. The building is constructed from squared and snecked red sandstone rubble, with ashlar copings, kneelers, and ball finials at the principal gable apexes. It has shouldered dormers and a setted inner courtyard.

The windows are predominantly timber sash and case with multi-pane glazing. The roof is covered with grey slate, and there are coped stacks. There have been minor alterations, including changes to the courtyard entrances to the stables in the eastern wing.
