1 Crowfootbank Farm Cottage, Swinton

2 Crowfootbank Farm Cottage is a mid-19th century building with later additions. It is a single-storey structure with an attic, featuring a central block that has four bays, flanked by two single-storey wings, creating a symmetrical eight-bay layout. Each cottage consists of four bays, and there are single-storey additions at the rear. The exterior is made of squared and snecked tooled sandstone, with timber bargeboards. The building has stugged quoins and stugged long and short surrounds with lightly droved, stop-chamfered margins. Sandstone mullions are present in the bipartite windows, which have projecting cills.

On the southwest (entrance) elevation, the central block has single windows at ground level, offset to the left and right of the center, and bipartite windows in the outer bays. Above, there are gabled bipartite dormers that break the eaves, each topped with timber finials. The flanking wings feature boarded timber doors in the bays to the right and left, with 2-pane fanlights above, and single windows in the outer bays.

The northeast (rear) elevation was not visible in 1998. The front features timber sash and case windows with 4-pane upper and plate glass lower glazing. The roofs are covered with grey slate, and there are cast-iron rainwater goods. Brick stacks with circular cans are located at the apex of the roof. The interiors were not seen in 1998.
