Description

St Dionysius Churchyard is a near square-plan graveyard located to the northeast of Ayton Parish Church, surrounding the remains of St Dionysius' Church to the north. The graveyard features a variety of gravestones from the 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, including table-top monuments, stones with classical detailing, earlier examples that include memento mori, and family burial enclosures.

The entrance to the graveyard is marked by plain iron gatepiers that flank both vehicular and pedestrian entrances to the south, accompanied by plain iron railings and gates.
