Description
White Cart Bridge, located on Inchinnan Road in Renfrew, is a notable structure built in 1811. It features three segmental arches that are framed by attached Graeco-Roman Doric columns, which are fluted and have niches between them. The bridge is adorned with bull-faced masonry ashlar parapets. Its design is similar to that of the nearby Inchinnan Bridge, which intersects it at right angles. Both bridges were constructed in 1812 at a cost of $17,000, under the engineering supervision of Robertson Buchanan, with the contractor being Kenneth Mathieson.
