Description

The Old Parish Church at Mute Hill in Caputh features a chancel dating from around 1500, which was squared off in approximately 1798 and topped with a pyramid-shaped slate roof. The church is constructed from rubble, with the west wall refaced in ashlar, showcasing a Norman arch and west Indian gates added in 1879. Inside, there are marble tablets commemorating the Mackenzie family from the years 1714, 1778, and 1835, and the vaults are lined with Roman tiles.
