Description
Blackfriars House is a late 18th century building located on North Port in Perth. The main block is three stories tall and features five windows. It has a Roman Doric pilastered doorpiece, with the center windows framed by architraves. The central first-floor window has a cornice, and the building is topped with a piended roof.
On either side of the main block are two-story, one-window advanced wings that have piended roofs, though they are not quite symmetrical. The west wing has tripartite windows on both floors, while the east wing features a tripartite window on the ground floor only, with a single light window on the first floor.
The east front facing Atholl Place was extended to the north in 1950, creating a three-window bow that includes a new entrance and a four-window frontage. The exterior is harled and whitewashed, with slated roofs.
