Description

14-16 Perth Street in Blairgowrie is a small tenement building, likely constructed in the early 20th century and altered in the late 20th century. It stands three stories tall with an attic, featuring a four-bay design and a nepus gable, situated within an irregular terrace. The exterior is characterized by narrow bands of squared rubble and harl, complemented by ashlar quoin strips and stone cills, while the sides and rear are finished in roughly coursed rubble. The building has dividing band courses and stone mullions.

The northeast elevation is symmetrical but has an altered ground floor. It includes a pilastered cart pend on the outer left, which retains the lettering 'BLAIRGOW' on the frieze, a door with a deep plate glass fanlight on the outer right, and two replacement bipartite windows in the center. The first and second floors each feature two single windows in the center and bipartite windows in the flanking bays. The nepus gable has decorative bargeboarding that rises from the center bays, with a single window in the middle and canted finialled dormer windows above the outer bays.

On the southwest rear elevation, there is a prominent circular stair tower that includes a part-glazed boarded timber door and two vertically-aligned narrow windows that break the eaves, leading to a decoratively-finialled conical roof located off-center to the left. To the right, there is an altered window at ground level, with small windows on each floor above. The ground floor features a lean-to bay on the left and a pend opening on the right, with bipartite windows on the first and second floors and canted dormers above.

The windows are fitted with plate glass glazing in timber sash and case frames, while the dormer windows at the rear have non-traditional glazing. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped harled stacks with cans. The eaves overhang, featuring both decorative and plain bargeboarding, adds to the building's character.

Inside, the interior is modern but retains a stone turnpike stair and cobbled setts in the pend area. The boundary walls are made of brick with semicircular coping.
