Description
The Abbey Church in Coupar Angus features an extensive graveyard that includes a watchhouse with an elongated octagon plan, constructed from Abbey stone and adorned with a frieze of sawn-up mouldings, dated 1829. Within the graveyard, there is an incised crozier slab that has been halved for the sides of a fireplace. Additionally, there is the Murray of Simprim mausoleum, which is designed in a plain Tudor style and dates from around 1850. The graveyard contains gravestones primarily from the 18th and 19th centuries, but none are of special note.
