Description
Tibbermore Parish Kirk is a church originally built in 1632 and remodelled in 1789, likely designed by James Stobie. During the 1789 renovation, the east aisle and middle gable were removed, the church was lengthened by 10 feet, windows were altered, galleries were added to the east and west, the pulpit was moved to a central position on the south wall, and a west porch was added. In 1808, a north T-plan aisle was constructed by Ruthven Printfield Company for their servants, which was purchased by the heritors in 1835 following extensive repairs in 1834. The church was refurnished in 1874 according to designs by William Maclaren of Sir George Condie Conning & Co. The exterior is harled with margins, featuring a fine bellcote dated 1632 that was renovated in 1808. The southwest corner has a skew crowstepped design, and the south wall contains two large and two small windows. The north aisle is built of rubble with droved dressings and includes three notable monuments on the west wall.
