Description

Cumberland Barracks, located at 2 Calton Street in Coupar Angus, is a three-storey building designed in an L-shape with a square staircase in the re-entrant angle. It is constructed of red rubble with white sandstone dressings and is dated 1766 at the skews. The frontage on Calton Street is approximately symmetrical, featuring a central wallhead gable. The east wing was formerly crowstepped and is believed to be of an earlier date. The internal layout consists of large rooms with smaller rooms branching off. The gable end has been repainted.
