Description
The Duka, located at 15 and 17 Well Street in Moffat, is a late 19th-century building designed in the Scottish Baronial style. It is a two-storey and attic structure with a four-bay front that is built on a curve. The building is constructed from rubble with ashlar dressings.
On the ground floor, there are two shops featuring two central doors that have shouldered heads and segmental arched heads, all beneath a bold cornice with finials. The first floor has outer bipartite windows and an inner single light, all set under stepped hood-moulds. The building is topped with two crowstepped gables, which include Jacobean detailing on the windows. The central bay features a corbelled conical roof covered in fish scale slates, capped by a statue on the right. The crowstepped end gables have stacks and a slated roof.
