Description

Tom A' Chaisteil is an 84-foot tall obelisk made of Aberdeen granite. It has a square base with panels that commemorate the victories of Sir David Baird, who lived from 1757 to 1829. The obelisk was erected in 1832 on the site of the castle of Tom a' Chaisteil. It was damaged by a thunderbolt in 1878.
