Description

The Methven Aisle and Lynedoch Mausoleum is located in the churchyard of Methven Parish Church. It features a rubble-walled enclosure and includes several notable 18th century gravestones. One particularly interesting gravestone is the Adam and Eve stone, which is dated 1769. The inscription reads: "All ye people that pas by on thes ... youl cast your ey. Thus was the way that sin began. The woman she beck the man," although the remainder of the inscription is hidden by turf.
