Description
The Methven Aisle and Lynedoch Mausoleum, located in the churchyard of Methven Parish Church, was built in 1781, with plans produced by Mr. Smythe of Methven. This rectangular structure is constructed from rubble and features a bellcote at the west gable. The south front has a pedimented three-window section, with the center bay advanced to include a tower and spire that has a pilastrade circular drum and octagonal upper stages. An additional north aisle was added by W.M. Mackenzie, dated 1825-1826. The glazing on the south front has been altered, while the glazing on the north front remains original, showcasing interesting Gothic dormers.
