Comrie Primary School

Comrie Primary School, designed by G T Ewing in 1908, is an Edwardian Renaissance building. It is a symmetrical, single-storey structure with a double-pile layout, where the front southeast pile is shorter than the rear. The school features gabled porches in the re-entrant angles and is constructed from coursed bullfaced rubble with ashlar dressings. The roofs are gabled and slated, with overhanging eaves that give it a distinctive appearance.

The main southeast front has a central gable with three windows that rises concave to a central panel featuring a bell. The centre bay is advanced and includes a triple keyblock window. On either side of this central section are flanking sections with three windows, where the central windows are raised in the roof and adorned with panelled gablets and simple thistle motifs. The building also has ashlar aprons and retains its original small-paned glazing. At the roof, there is a doric columned rotunda ventilator, which serves as a cupola.
