Description

44 Atholl Road in Pitlochry is a single-storey terrace building, dating from around 1835 to 1840, with later alterations. Originally, it consisted of five three-bay cottages constructed from roughly coursed rubble and featuring overhanging eaves.

On the southwest elevation, No. 36 has been converted into a shop, which includes a two-leaf timber door and flanking fixed bipartite display windows. No. 40, previously Nos. 38 and 40, has been transformed into a café, with each cottage featuring a part-glazed timber door and flanking windows that have plate glass glazing in timber sash and case windows. No. 46, formerly No. 42, also has a central door and flanking windows, but these are all made of aluminium.

The southeast elevation displays a gabled structure with two blocked openings, while the northeast (rear) elevation is irregular, showcasing a variety of projecting bays. The building is topped with graded grey slates and has coped ashlar stacks with polygonal cans, along with deeply overhanging eaves.
