Cart Shed Block, Lethangie House

The Lethangue Estate features a walled enclosure dating back to the late 17th century, located southeast of the main house. The south wall runs parallel to the road, while the north wall has steps. At the lower east corner, there is a dovecote, and two outbuildings, likely constructed in the early 19th century, extend along the wall towards Lethangue House. The entrance to the walled garden has a flat arch with wide raised droved margins and a boarded door situated south of the dovecote in the east wall.

The dovecote is a large, square-plan structure from the 17th century, built from rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings. It features a distinctively rounded southeast angle and a slated pyramid roof topped with a 19th-century triangular timber doo-entry facing south. The roof includes six rows of flight holes and curvilinear bargeboards, along with a wrought-iron fleur-de-lis apex finial. A boarded door is located to the left on the north wall. Inside, there is a central timber column, which serves as a potence for revolving ladders, and full-height nesting boxes line all four walls.

The outbuildings, likely built in the early 19th century, are situated along the north wall of the walled garden to the west. The east cart shed block is a single-storey structure with a loft, made of rubble with droved margins. It has three bays on the north side, featuring a boarded vehicular door on a sliding track at the wide left-hand bay. There are two flat-arched cart arches at the ground level, with three loft openings at the eaves above, the center opening being larger with two-leaf boarded doors. The other two openings face south and have louvered shutters. Raggle lines indicate where now-demolished buildings were formerly attached at the east and west gables.

The west block is also a single-storey structure with a loft, constructed from rubble with droved ashlar dressings and ashlar skews. The roof has been replaced with corrugated iron. This block has a variety of openings, with alterations made to the north side and original openings retained on the south side. The west gable features a blocked central door at ground level and a single window with a square hoodmould above, which contains two-pane glazing.
