Description

Muckersie Chapel, first mentioned between 1181 and 1185, was originally the parish church of Muckersie. It was reconstructed around 1840 to serve as a burial place for the Belshes family of Invermay. The building is a rectangular structure with crowstepped gables, constructed from rubble. It features a round-arched Gothic doorway that is splayed and has a hood mould. Inside, there are traces of blocked openings in the south wall. Externally, there are two small east-facing windows dating from around 1840, and the inner rear arches may be partly original.
