Description
Skaill House is a historic building with its oldest part likely dating from the early 17th century, although it was altered in 1676 and later. The original structure consists of three arms surrounding a courtyard, with a screen wall on the west side. It has two and a half storeys and is harled. The northern arm features corbie steps, while the southern arm has skews. A modern rear porch includes an armorial panel from Breckness House. In the 18th century, the courtyard was filled in to accommodate a stair. To the north, there is a stable yard that includes a brew-house and a harness-room. The property has extensive additions from the 19th and 20th centuries.
